Panhandle labor force shows growth

The Texas Panhandle Workforce Development Area (WDA) holds the second- lowest unemployment rate in the state of Texas, standing at 2.7 percent, with Permian Basin WDA reporting the lowest unemployment rate at 2.6 percent and Lower Rio Grande Valley WDA with the highest at 5.6 percent.
Dimmitt High School has hired a new head boys basketball coach. Grayson Moore, who has been coaching at Bremond High School accepted the position to lead the Bobcats team. He led the Bremond team to the Area playoffs this year and was also assistant football and baseball coach. Moore is a graduate of Goldthwaite High School and Texas Tech University.

USDA accepting applications for OCCSP program

Through the Organic Certifi cation Cost Share Program (OCCSP), USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) will cover up to 75% of organic certification costs at a maximum of $750 per certifi cation category.
