Vaccine mandates under fire

Vaccine mandates across the country continue to be challenged as states continue to file lawsuits against the Biden administration and OSHA. Most recently two lawsuits against the mandate were successful and stays upheld.

Lions Help Make History

The Dimmitt Lions Club, represented by Kay Gfeller, donated $2,500 to The Castro County Historical Museum. Leta Denniss accepted the donation on behalf of the museum, saying the donation from the Lions was “greatly appreciated” with repairs and improvements continuing at the museum. The museum, located at 404 W. Halsell, has several newly completed projects centering on the armed forces and people who served from Castro County. Work that began over two years ago to restore and improve the museum buildings and collections is underway, with the most recent improvements focused on the old prisoner of war barrack that houses the museum’s collection of military pictures, uniforms, and other war memorabilia.

Samsung to produce micro chips in Texas

Governor Greg Abbott announced at a press conference in Austin that Samsung Electronics, Co., Ltd. ("Samsung") will build a new semiconductor manufacturing facility in Taylor.

CDC releases vaccine injury data

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released new data this past Monday showing 913,268 adverse events after people received Covid vaccines between Dec. 14, 2020, and Nov. 19, 202, as reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).
