WT Agronomy Club top in nation

West Texas A&M University’s Agronomy Club is entering 2023 as the top club in the country. Dayson Schacher of Nazareth is a member of the WT club The club recently won National Club of the Year after entering the President’s Trophy competition at the Students of Agronomy, Soils and Environmental Sciences national meeting in Baltimore, thanks in large part to its inclusivity efforts.

Governor Greg Abbott last Thursday officially appointed Jane Nelson to serve as the 115th Texas Secretary of State (SoS) and was set to be sworn in by Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice Nathan Hecht on Jan. 7.

Lubbock man arrested for social media comments

Frederick Francis Goltz, 51, is being held at the Lubbock County Detention Center on a federal warrant after being arrested by the FBI on Dec. 20. He is accused of posting a series of threatening messages on social media sites.

Do people today really have shorter attention spans? Well, it appears that because multiple messages bombard us daily, we mentally “delete” those we don’t currently need. (This explains why some folks forget what they had for breakfast, or why I call so many of my friends “Pal.”) Latest reports – compiled by scientists who pay attention – set the average adult attention span at only eight minutes.

If the oil is not topped up, you will notice the wick itself beginning to burn and smolder. Soon the effect of light given out by the oil lamp begins to fade and wick eventually turns to ash, no longer of any use. So it is with any soul who burns vibrantly for the purposes of God without replenishing their fuel.
