One dead, three injured following fatal crash

The Castro County Sheriff ’s Office responded to a major wreck south of Hart at FM 168 & FM 145 last Wednesday afternoon after receiving a 911 call.Deputies arrived to find two unresponsive people and one ambulatory person involved in the crash.

Patrick launches legislative initiative

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick issued a statement on Monday announcing a new major legislative initiative for the Texas Senate, the Dementia Prevention Research Institute of Texas (DPRIT).

State unemployment at 4.1

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Texas remained stable at 4.1 percent, the same as the September rate, though higher than October 2023 at 3.6, according to the Texas Workforce Commission and U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics U-3 report.
