Tyler Teters 1985-2026

Tyler Teters, beloved son of John and Cora Teters, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, in Canyon, at the age of 40.

Tyler was born on July 17, 1985, in Amarillo, Texas. He graduated from Hereford High School in 2004 and earned a Bachelor of Business from West Texas A&M University in 2008. Tyler owned Subway and Taco Bell in Hereford, as well as several Subway locations in the surrounding Panhandle towns.

Tyler had a strong artistic side, with passion for music, playing the piano, and creating pottery. He was also an excellent gardener and a skilled cook. He enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii, surfing, and spending time with his two Sheltie sheepdogs. Tyler was guided by strong values; he demonstrated kindness, attentiveness, empathy, and patience. His selflessness shone through, always prioritizing others, which made him an exceptional son, brother, friend, and boss.

Those left to cherish his memories are his parents, John and Cora (Garcia) Teters of Canyon, Texas; sister Tiffany Holbrook and her husband Clayton of Ft. Worth, Texas; nephews Calvin and Thomas Holbrook; grandmother Celia Reddinger of Hereford, Texas; aunt and uncle Lorie and Rocky Thomson of Farmington, New Mexico; and cousins Camille and Jared Thomson, Chuck Allemand, and Karen Dominguez.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Gene and Lores Teters, grandfather Facundio Garcia, and his aunt and uncle Carmen and Charlie Allemand.

A Celebration of Life Service honoring Tyler and his grandmother Lores Teters will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home in Hereford with Pastor Ted Taylor officiating. Burial of Cremains will follow at West Park Cemetery under the personal care and direction of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home.
