Linda Castañeda, 77, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on November 16, 2025, in Hereford, surrounded by her loving family.
Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 1:00 PM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, burial of cremains to follow at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Hereford.
Linda was born on July 22, 1948, in Hereford, Texas, to Consuelo (González) and Jesus Castañeda, Sr. She graduated from Hereford High School in 1966. Linda worked as a pharmacy technician for Gibson’s Pharmacy, West Park Drug, and the Parmer County Community Hospital Pharmacy. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
Linda loved the Dallas Cowboys, trips to the casino, and playing Lotería. She cared deeply for her family and was known for her joy, kindness, and laughter.
She is preceded in death by her parents Consuelo and Jesus Castañeda, Sr., infant brother Johnny Marcos Castañeda, sisters Mary Helen Cisneros and Gloria Jean Garcia, and niece Connie Marie Lee.
Those left to cherish her memories are her siblings, Ernest Castañeda and wife Lee Ann of Springfield, Missouri, Carmen Castañeda-Nuñez and husband Ramón, Christine Castañeda, Rick Castañeda, Jesus Castañeda, Jr., and Edward Castañeda, all of Hereford, Texas; nieces and nephews, Kelly Castañeda (Amy), Colby Castañeda (April), Courtney Castañeda, Orlando Nuñez, Oswaldo Nuñez (Debra), Christopher Castañeda (Charity), Roger Rios, Ruben Rios, Susan Ruíz (José), Joshua Castañeda, Jennifer Castañeda (Marcus Lewis) and several great nieces and nephews.
Arrangements and Cremation services were entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.
