STARTING GATE TENSION--(Above, right) Seemingly a few nerves were showing at the starting gate in this preliminary heat of the big run for the roses at the seventh annual Kentucky Derby Gala at the Hereford Senior Citizens Center on May 2. Looking to position their powered ponies just-so are from left, Scott Hall, Bill Youngsma, Cindy Black, and Pam Perrin. Big overall winner was Lady Penny, rolled by First Financial Bank.
