The Nazareth Stock Show was held this past Wednesday, with young showman arriving to compete and show off all the hard work that had gone into their livestock projects.
Judge for the show was Kinder Harlow from Prairie Grove, Arkansas, a livestock judging member at Texas Tech who raises club lambs.
Announcers for the show were Sheridan Franks, WTAMU student teacher, and Nikki Wethington, counselor at Nazareth ISD. Current and ex-Naz FFA members assisted in the ring.
The Steer Show got underway at 5 p.m. with English and Exotic breeds. Harper Johnson won the Champion English, with Payton Durbin claiming Reserve English.
The Exotics entered the pen and saw Emily Durbin win Class 2 LW; Shelby Annen won the Class 3 HW. Annen won the Champion Exotic as well as Grand Champion Steer; Payton Durbin won Reserve Cham pion Exotic and Reserve Champion Steer.
The Heifer Show was up next with English and Exotic competitors.
Brett Young won the English class and was English Champion, with Kaylin Acker named Reserve Champion.
Landry Kleman won both classes in the Exotic heifers as well as Exotic Champion and Reserve Champion.
Landry Kleman won the Supreme Heifer title and Brett Young was the Reserve Champion.
Cattle Showmanship winners were Payton Durbin in the senior division, and Harper Johnson for the junior division.
In the Angora Goat Show, Oren Welps won the LW weight class and Champion Angora; and Sy Welps came in second and won Reserve Angora.
In the Meat Goat Show, Jack Welps won Champion Meat Goat and Grand Champion Goat; and Sy Welps won Reserve Champion Goat.
Goat Showmanship winners were Jack Welps for the seniors and Oren Welps for the juniors.
Emma Kleman won the Finewool and Medium Wool Breed Champion titles, with Landry Kleman winning both the Reserve Breed titles.
Showmanship winner for the lambs were Landry Kleman, seniors, and Copper Farris, juniors.
The Grand Champion Barrow title went to Tye Schulte and Reserve Champion to Kari Schulte.
Barrow Showmanship champions were Kari Schulte, seniors, and Harper Johnson, juniors.
