Brisco

William E. “Bill” Brisco, 87, long time resident of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on, Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, in Dimmitt. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, Feb. 1, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Sullivan and Pastor Brad Yates officiating; burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home. Viewing will be Sunday, Jan. 31, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bill was born on Dec. 6, 1933 in Los Angeles, California to Major and Mary (Hyde) Brisco. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1952 and is a proud veteran of the Korean Conflict. Bill married Dee Brisco on Dec. 21, 1979 in Arlington. He worked for 36 years for General Motors, after his retirement Bill and Dee moved to Dimmitt in March of 1991. He was also employed for Colonial Funeral Home for many years. Bill enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, playing Dominoes and was a big NASCAR fan. He will be greatly missed by many.

Bill is survived by his wife, Dee Brisco; four sons, Brad Yates and wife Melinda, of Texarkana, Rick Yates and wife Sandy of Russellville, Kentucky, Kyle Yates and wife Kelley of Burleson, Kip Yates and fiancé, Shannon Staats of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Tina Mason and husband Bob of Cedar Creek, and Jana Freedman of Hurst; 18 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; lots of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bay and Bobbie Baldridge.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mark Brisco; three sisters, Marie Joplin, Jessie Cain, and Myra Sims; and one brother, Tollie Brisco.
