Hermelinda B. De Guzman, 92 of Hart, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, in Hart. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 12, at 10:30 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with the Rev. Arockiaraj Raj, Deacon John Niño, Deacon Richard Martinez and Deacon Paul Herrera as celebrants. Burial will follow in Hart Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited on Friday, June 11 at 6 p.m. in the church.
Heremlinda Guzman was born on October 29, 1928 in Querendaro Michoacan, Mexico to Tiburcio Bedolla and Jovita (Lagunas) Bedolla. Hermelinda had been a resident of Castro County for 55 years. She married Jose Guzman on April 21, 1950 in Mexico. Hermelinda was a longtime member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Hart. She enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family and raising chickens, but most of all she will be remembered by being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Those left behind to cherish her memories are her children, Mario Guzman and wife Beatrice, Arthur Guzman and wife Andrea, Beatrice Martinez and husband Lupe all of Hart, and Imelda Menchaca, Hilda Ballew and Eloisa Romero and husband Juan, all of Plainview; 15 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Hermelinda is preceded in death by her parents, spouse, Jose Guzman; daughter, Maria Guzman; son, Romaldo Guzman; grandson, Javier Guzman; great-great-grandson, Nivar Martin Bueno; along with two brothers and five sisters.
