The mid-term elections are over, the polls are closed, and votes counted, with winners being declared across the state in districts and state level contest.
Locally, Mandy Gfeller, Republican, defeated Janet Sammann, Independent, in her bid for Castro County judge, with Gfeller receiving 794 votes and Sammann, 661. Gfeller will be filling the shoes of outgoing Judge Carroll Gerber in 2023.
