Production was halted at Shearer’s Foods after a large fire burned parts of the facility for an hour on Monday morning.
Lubbock Rescue firefighters were called to the food plant near 34th and Ave. B just before 8:45 a.m. and arrived to find heavy flames and smoke billowing out the roof, with the heavy smoke making it difficult to navigate inside the building.
