Firefighters and first responders from the Dimmitt VFD, Nazareth VFD, Hart VFD, Dawn VFD, Deaf Smith Fire Department, Castro and Deaf Smith County Sheriff’s Offices answered a call to a wildfire that threatened the Coronado Acres subdivision, located about 15 miles from Dimmitt just off of US 385 north. Sheriff Sal Rivera said the quick action on the part of all those battling the blaze averted a more serious situation.
