Loreta M. Henderson, 87 of Texhoma, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, at First Baptist Church in Texhoma, withPastor David Moore, officiating. A Graveside Service will follow at 2 p.m. at Stratford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the evening on Wednesday at the funeral homein Stratford. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~Morrison Funeral Directors.
Loreta was born on Aug. 25, 1937, in Happy, Texas to Glenford and Marie(Kiker) Fowler. She grew up and attended school at the Big FourSchoolhouse until completion of the 8th grade. She then went toCrosbyton High School where she graduated. She then attended WestTexas College and married John ‘J.C.” Henderson on Oct. 6, 1962, inHereford, Texas; he preceded her in death in 2019.
Loreta was anexcellent homemaker and wife and took great pride in taking care ofthe family and home. Loreta also helped with county elections and wasa part of the Hereford County Extensions where she hosted a weeklyradio show to keep the community up to date on current 4H events.
Loreta was always very active in church where she taught in thenursery, young adults, and later Sunday School to the older members. She was a member of the Texhoma First Baptist Church. Her family wasalso very important to her, and she enjoyed supporting her children inall their activities.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents;sister, May Gene Flatt; brothers, J.M. Fowler and Wayne Fowler; and great-grandson: Ari David Henderson.
Loreta is survived by her children, Howard Henderson of Stratford, Texas,David Henderson and wife Tonya of Texhoma, Oklahoma, Linda Henderson ofStratford, Texas and Michael Henderson and wife Eva of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren, Raquel Henderson and her children-Kayden, Jaxon, andCalvin; Miguel Henderson, Karina Soto and husband Marcos, IreneHenderson and child Maceo, Chad and Tashea Thies and their children, Brox, Braun and Briar; Chanel Henderson, Chandler and Brooke Hendersonand their children, Prairie, Granger and Aspen, Tayler and MakiahHenderson and children Asher, Colson, Adalee, Tanner Henderson and wife Charlotte and child Luca, Charisse Henderson, Ben and Sarah Bradyand children Brooklyn and Madilyn, Dawn Henderson and Leah Henderson.
