Manuel Saenz, 60, a lifelong resident of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Celebrant David Contreras and Deacons John Nino and Richard Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery witharrangements and services being entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home with rosary being held at 5 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Manuel was born on April 23, 1964, in Dimmitt, to Victor Saenz Sr. and Imelda (Reyes) Saenz. He was born and raised in Dimmitt. He graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1982 and later attended and graduated from Amarillo College. Manuel loved playing the bajo and being a musician, he played for countless bands throughout his adult life. He was employed at Plains Memorial Hospital in Dimmitt, for 32 years as a supervisor, and was considered a hardworking, dedicated, valued employee. Manuel was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan; he was funnyas well as being charming.Manuel was a child of God who was very devoted to his faith and was a piece of heaven on earth. Manuel was a second father to many children in the community. His presence, charm, and laughter will be missed by all who love him.
Those left to remember and cherish his memories are his wife, Elizabeth Saenz of Dimmitt;his children, Aaron Saenz and wife Kassandra of Amarillo, Kristi Medrano and husband Daniel of El Paso, Selena Saenz of Amarillo, and a special daughter, Elizabeth Minjarez of Hale Center; siblings, Diane Compean of Lubbock, Fidela Everett of Amarillo, Victor Saenz Jr. and wife Evangelina of Dimmitt, Rosa Azua and husband Robert of Dimmitt, Anita Gauna of Dimmitt, Connie Montelongo and husband Anthony of Dimmitt, Julian Saenz and wife Dora of Amarillo, and Linda Bonilla and husband Rudy of Dimmitt; along with nine grandchildren, Dravin, Kasin, Liris, Arelie, Christopher, Samuel, Braden, Bree, and Megan and one greatgrandchild, Aubrey Saenz.
Manuel is preceded in death by his parents, Victor Saenz Sr. and Imelda Saenz; brother, Juan Manuel Saenz; and granddaughter, Aubrey K’Lynn Saenz.
