Arthur (Art) Brockman, of Nazareth passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the age of 76 years. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 22, at 10: a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Balaswamy Polisetti, Deacon Bob Birkenfeld and Deacon Joe Hochstein as celebrants. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

A vigil will be held on Friday, April 21, at 7 p.m. at the church.

Art was born on December 25, 1946, in Dimmitt, to Arnold Brockman and Katie (Schmucker) Brockman. He grew up in Nazareth and graduated from Nazareth High School in 1965. He enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1966 – 1968. He then moved back to Nazareth and farmed up until his death. Art married Jeanette Brandt on Nov. 24, 990, in Nazareth. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he once served as Grand Knight, Panhandle Degree Corporation Team, American Legion, and Catholic Order of Foresters. He enjoyed working the land and volunteering and cooking for events in Nazareth including weddings and funerals. He especially enjoyed the Labor Day auction and was the flag bearer for the parade for most of his adult life.

Art is survived by his two brothers, Ralph Brockman and Dale Brockman and his wife Mona, all from Nazareth; one sister, Joyce Gutierrez and husband Moe of Albuquerque, New Mexico; along with many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 16 years, Jeanette; his parents; one brother, Virgil Brockman; two sisters, Naomi McGrath and Monica Mote; one brother-in-law, Gerald Brandt; and one sister-in-law, Sharon Brockman.
