The service will be led by Father Heriberto Mercado of Muleshoe, Texas. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.

Stella left this world to have eternal life on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021 in Amarillo, Texas. She had a peaceful passing as her family surrounded her in her last moments. Stella was born Jan. 8, 1962 in Littlefield, Texas to Adolfo and Dolores (San Miguel) Ruiz. She married Valentin Caballero, the love of her life, on Feb. 4, 1983. They had 38 beautiful years of marriage. He was the Yin to her Yang. They showed their children the definition of true love.

Stella Ann Caballero was a devoted mother and grandmother. She had an unconditional love for her family. She lived her life with so much joy. Anywhere her family was she wanted to be. She loved spending time dancing, taking late night cruises, shopping, going to the lake, watching movies and going all out with decorations for each holiday. She especially loved going to church and getting so into the praise and worship music. She loved spending time with her three "chaotic" sisters. Whenever they were together you knew they were going to be eating, laughing, and arguing just like sisters that love each other do. Stella adored and loved all the students she met while subbing at Dimmitt ISD for many years. Stella was the most beautiful, sweetest, loving, caring, giving, and kindest person you have ever met. She had a fighting spirit and heart of gold. She will be loved and cherished forever.

Stella is preceded in death by her parents; and one granddaughter, Rosalia Caballero.

Stella is survived by her husband, Valentin; her son, Steven Caballero and his wife Denise of Wolfforth, Texas; four daughters, Priscilla Caballero of Dimmitt, Vanessa Caballero of Wolfforth, Briana Caballero and fiancé Mason Lopez of Amarillo, and Arriana Caballero of Dimmitt; sisters, Linda Martinez of Dimmitt, Betty Lee of Hereford Texas, and Belia Galvan of Dimmitt; two brothers, Michael Ray Ruiz of Dimmitt, and Adolfo Ruiz Jr. of Hereford; 11 grandchildren, Naveah, Joey, Joel, Kalista, Josyah, Jayliona, Uryah, Jordan, Jaiden, Easton, and Ashton
