Childers

Truett Childers, 68, died Feb. 21, 2021 at his home in Austin Texas. A graveside service at West Lawn Memorial Park in Dimmitt will be held April 11, at 3 p.m.

Truett was born Aug. 16, 1952 in Abilene, Texas and moved to Childress where he spent his early childhood. He moved to Dimmitt in the mid 60’s and graduated from Dimmitt High School.

He worked in Dimmitt for several years and later moved to Austin to continue his career. We worked for a building supply business in Austin before retiring there.

After retiring he developed a love for computers and social media. He was a self taught computer user and single handedly developed a sophisticated system he called his command center which he used for social media sites and gaming channels like twitch.

He loved golf, music, football and horse races.

Truett is survived by his uncles, Jay Lee Touchstone and Truman Touchstone; an aunt, Ella Loys Allman Little of Abilene Texas; and many cousins and special social media friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Childers; and his mother, Maxine Childers.
