Duane Davis, 78, passed away at his home in Tulia, Texas, on May 26, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28, in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Charles Davenport officiating. A private cremation burial will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery on a later date. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 27, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Duane was born on Sept. 28, 1943, in Duncan, Oklahoma, the son of Jimmie and Ruby Davis. He married Nan Schumacher on Jan. 25, 1969, and they shared 53 years together and had two sons, Tracey Davis, and Cody Davis.

Duane and his father, Jimmie, bought and hauled cattle for 44 years together and raised cattle and sheep on their ranch outside of town. After he retired, he was especially fond of his chickens, from which he sold many eggs over the years.

Duane is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie, and Ruby Davis. He is survived by his wife, Nan Davis of Tulia; two sons, Tracey Davis and his wife Ashley of Happy, Texas and Cody Davis and his wife Heather of Canyon, Texas; eight grandchildren, Sadie Rodriguez, and her husband David of Nazareth, Texas, Taylor Chiantaretto, and her husband Zane of Canyon, Harley Davis of Happy, Mark, Matthew and Mikeal Davis of Irving, Texas, Stetson Davis of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Rylee Mosley of Canyon; and six great-grandchildren, Lainey, Conlee, Cash, and Bryleigh Chiantaretto of Canyon, and Aria and Elena Rodriguez of Nazareth.

In memory of his life and health, memorials can be made in his name to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, and the Alzheimer’s Association.
