Rafael Enriquez, 85 of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in Dimmitt. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 27 at 2 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home with Trista Enriquez officiating. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 26, with rosary being recited at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rafael was born Sept. 10, 1935 in Brownsville, Texas to Juan and Aurelia (Hinojosa) Enriquez. He married his wife Rafaela Enriquez on March 16, 1959. Rafael has been a resident of Dimmitt for 55 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rafael was a hard worker; he worked from sunup to sundown. He was a great father and loved his grandchildren. He loved to travel, was the peacemaker, loved family gatherings, fishing and watching westerns. He was a very spiritual man and loved to talk.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Rafaela Enriquez of Dimmitt; his children, Jessie Enriquez of Houston, Sylvia Enriquez Herrera of Dimmitt, Rafael Enriquez Jr. and wife Marylou of Dimmitt, Tony Enriquez and wife Andrea of Plainview, Ricardo Enriquez of Angleton, Rene Enriquez of Plainview, and Rosie Enriquez of Ft. Worth; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Reyes Enriquez of Brownsville.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Juan Ramon Enriquez; one sister, Juana Paz; and one brother, Raul Enriquez.
