Rafaela Enriquez, 83 of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, in Plainview, Texas surrounded by her loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Arockiaraj Malapady, Deacon John Nino, and Deacon Richard Martinez as celebrants. Burial will follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. A viewing will be held on Monday, Feb. 13, at 5 p.m.. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with a Rosary/Vigil Service beginning at 6 p.m.

Rafaela was born on Oct. 24, 1939, in Matamoros, Mexico, to Jose and Maria Jimenez. She married her husband Rafael Enriqu, Sr., on March 16, 1959, in Brownsville, Texas. Rafaela has been a resident of Dimmitt for 57 years. She was a faithful member and Guadalupana of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rafaela was a devoted wife and took great pride in caring for her family. She loved to sew, plant roses, play BINGO, and cook for her family, especially homemade tortillas and warm meals. Rafaela was a great mother and loved her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Sylvia Herrera of Hereford, Texas, Rafael Enriquez Jr. and his wife Mary Lou of Dimmitt, Tony Enriquez and his wife Andrea of Plainview, Texas, Ricardo Enriquez of Angleton, Texas, Rene Enriquez and his wife Rose of Plainview, and Rosemary Enriquez of Hurst, Texas; 24; 38t great-grandchildren; one grandpup; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog, BO.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rafael Enriquez Sr.; son,s Ramon Enriquez and Jesse Enriquez; and a brother, Jose Jimenez.
