Edward Garcia Sr. of Dimmitt, Texas (former resident of Earth, Texas) passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023, in Dimmitt. Viewing will begin on Thursday, May 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with funeral services following at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Colonial Funeral Home. Cremation will follow with arrangements being under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Edward Garcia Sr. was born on August 14, 1953, in Edinburg, Texas to Daniel Garcia and Petra (Tristen) Garcia. Edward lived most of his life in Earth, Texas before moving to Dimmitt. Edward’s passion was playing and listening to music. Edward worked as a farmer for many years for Kent and Lloyd Vaughn and then became a truck driver, which he thoroughly enjoyed. However, spending time with his family and friends was his greatest enjoyment.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his mother, Petra Garcia; wife, Judy Garcia; children, Gabriel Garcia and wife Stephanie of Dimmitt, Sonya Garcia of Dimmitt, Edward Garcia Jr. and wife Sarah of Wauchula, Florida, and Tomasa Garcia and husband Noe of Earth; sisters, Celsa Chacon, Valentina Garcia, Maria Alvarez, and Sandy Jimenez, all of Earth; brothers, Felix Garcia of Earth, and Daniel Garcia Jr. and wife Janie of Earth; grandchildren, Andrew, Dezirae, Zayden, Gabriel Jr., Khloe, and Lexie, along with numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.

Edward is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Garcia; sister, Beatrice Salinas; and brother, Alonzo Garcia.
