Josephina Garza, daughter of Jesus Triana and Regina (Olvera) Triana, was born in Amherst, Texas on Feb. 18, 1952, and departed this life Aug. 14, 2023, in Dimmitt, Texas, at the age of 71 years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Aug. 19, at 2 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. David Contreras, Deacon John Nino, and Deacon Paul Herrera as celebrants. Burial will follow in Earth Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Rosary will be recited on Friday, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m. at the church with vigil service to follow.

Josephina grew up in Earth, Texas. She was a housewife raising her four children while living in Earth. Josephina loved the outdoors and spending time gardening along with many other things. Every time Josephina had the chance she loved to go shopping with her girls. She enjoyed listening to all kinds of music and has collected a large number of CDs throughout the years. Most of all she will be remembered for being the perfect wife, the most amazing mother and grandmother who loved her family very much. Josephina was a dedicated and faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for many years.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Margarito Garza of Dimmitt; children, Becky Mendoza of Hereford, Anita Miramontes and husband Scott of Hereford, Elena Galvan and husband Isaias of Plainview, and Francisco Perez Jr. of Canyon; stepchildren, Lulu Garcia and husband Jessie of Earth, and Jessie Garza and wife Shana of Garland; sister, Connie Aguilar and husband Alonzo of Dimmitt; and brother, Jose Triana and wife Dora of Muleshoe; along with 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Carlos Triana and Dionicio Triana; sister, Maria Triana; and two great-granddaughters, Kaydence Faith Velasquez, and Briell Miramontes.
