Narciso M. Gauna, 93 of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in Dimmitt. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Jan. 15, at 11:30 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Arockiaraj Malapady and Deacon John Niño as celebrants. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, Jan. 14, at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Due to COVID-19, everyone will be required to wear a mask at the funeral home and the church.

Narciso Gauna was born on May 4, 1927 in San Marcos to Ramon Gauna and Augustina (Mendoza) Gauna. Narciso grew up in San Marcos and has been a longtime resident of Dimmitt. He was a farmer and worked for John Deere up until his retirement. Narciso loved playing cards, lottery tickets, listening to music and dancing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all.

Narciso is survived by his daughters, Janie Ramirez of Dimmitt, Lydia Garcia and husband Ruben of Goodland, Kansas, Josie Garcia of Nazareth, Maria Salcido and husband Chano of Bangs, and Norma Dominguez and husband Hilbert of Kyle; son, Danny Rodriguez and wife Rebecca of Dimmitt; brothers, Thomas Hernandez of Austin, Luciano Gauna of Houston, Frank Hernandez of Nebraska, and Ramon Gauna of Dimmitt; sisters, Tina Gonzales of Amarillo, Maria Herrera of Lubbock, Lola Moreno of Arizona, and Alicia Castillo of Littlefield; 25 grandchildren; 74 greatgrandchildren; and 40 great-great-grandchildren.
