Roger Gerber, 71 of Canyon, Texas passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022, in Canyon. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 13, at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Bhaskar Adusupalli, the Rev. Nick Gerber, Deacon Bob Birkenfeld, and Deacon Joe Hochstein as celebrants. Burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. The body will be received by the church on Tuesday, July 12, at 6:30 p.m. with the rosary immediately following
Ṙoger Joseph Gerber was born on April 21, 1951, in Tulia, Texas to Leonard Gerber and Alvina (Schmucker) Gerber. Roger was raised in Nazareth and graduated from Nazareth High School in 1969. He married Glenda (Ehly) Gerber on Sept. 16, 1995, in Nazareth. Roger worked as a mechanic most of his life and opened Rogers Repair in Nazareth in 1980. Some of the things that Roger loved was watching NASCAR, loving all types of animals but especially his dogs, and spending time in the mountains with his family riding the mountain trails.
Roger is survived by his wife, Glenda Gerber of Canyon; mother, Alvina Gerber of Nazareth; siblings, Connie Backus and husband Fritz of Hereford, Mark Gerber of Nazareth, Mick Gerber and wife Jane of Nazareth, and Joel Gerber and wife Mary Beth of Nazareth; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leonard Gerber; and brother, Paul Gerber.
