Hoelting

Cecil Hoelting, lifelong resident of Nazareth, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023, in Dimmitt, Texas at the age of 91years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Arokiaraj Samala, and Deacon Bob Birkenfeld as celebrants. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Rosary will be recited on Friday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m. at the church.

Cecil was born on Feb. 11, 1932, in Nazareth, to Frank Hoelting and Ella (Heiman) Hoelting and was a lifelong resident of Nazareth. Cecil graduated from Nazareth High School in 1950. He entered the United States Army in November 1954 where he spent most of his time in Germany. Cecil married Norita (Schulte) Hoelting on Feb. 6, 1957, in Nazareth. Cecil worked at Kern Supply and then for Cargill in Dimmitt up until his retirement.

Cecil was a lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church, founding member of the Nazareth Volunteer Fire Department, member of the American Legion and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Norita Hoelting of Nazareth; children, Mark Hoelting and wife Vera of Nazareth, Keith Hoelting and wife Karleen of Nazareth, Leland Hoelting and wife Janice of Amarillo, Texas, Dale Hoelting and wife Susan of Carollton, Texas, Annette Hoelting of Keller, TX and Kevin Hoelting and wife Nicole of Carollton, TX, brother, Ronnie Hoelting and wife Regina of Nazareth; sister, Dianne Norris and husband Warren of Dallas, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 14 greatgrandchildren.

Cecil is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ella Hoelting; siblings, Richard Hoelting, Marion Hoelting, twin sister, Cecila Hoelting, Julene Hoelting, Leonard Hoelting, Floyd Hoelting, and Estelle Keys.
