Lauro Jackson, 81, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 29, at 10 a.m. at the Central Church of Christ with Mr. Delphine Ruiz officiating and burial following at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A rosary and a prayer service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 28, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.

Lauro was born on Jan. 1, 1940, in San Juan, Texas to Juan Jackson and Concepcion Singletary. He met and married Paula Zuniga and moved to Dimmitt and he worked in the bus barn for the Dimmitt ISD for 20 years. He later framed and worked for Eric Fowler for many years until his retirement. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Lauro loved his grandchildren and his great grandchildren and would never miss any sports event they played. He will be remembered as a very active, conservative, hardworking person and who would love to sit outside his porch every morning drinking coffee with his sidekick (Kloe).

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Santiago Jackson, Manuel Yarrito and Chalo Yarrito; his sister; Mary Elizondo; his granddaughter, Kimberly Jackson; and his grandson, Dominic Lopez.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Jackson of Tulia; his children, Annie Saucedo of Tulia, Noe Jackson of Tulia, Larry Jackson Jr. and wife Rosa of Plainview, Rodrigo Jackson and wife Michelle of Amarillo, and Raul Jackson and wife Paula of Dimmitt; his sister, Rosa Perez of McAllen, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
