Celebration of life for Rocky Kay will be on Saturday Aug. 19, 2023, at The Shed in Dimmitt, Texas.

Rocky Kay, 69 and a longtime resident of Dimmitt, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023.

He was born in Plainview, Texas on March 5,1954 to Bob & Wanda Kay. His parents moved to Castro County in 1960. He started school in Dimmitt and graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1972.

Rocky was active in Agriculture most of his life. With unwavering commitment, he toiled under the sun and rain tending to the needs of our communities. His hard work and resilience were a true testament to his character.

A devoted family man whose love and care knew no bounds, Rocky’s family was not limited to just his blood relatives but any who needed him. Additionally, he found his true second home with the Top of the Hill Gang. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones and leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever remain in our hearts.

Rocky leaves behind his father Bob Kay; two sons, Joshua Kay of Plano and Dusty Kay of Dimmitt; a daughter, Krysta Kay Johnson and son-in-law Derion of Amarillo; a dearly loved granddaughter, Keira Kay of Plano; two sisters, Darla McAndrew of Lubbock and Delese Ellison of Austin; nieces and nephews, Errin Todd, Steve Todd, Sarah Wethington, Brad Wethington, Adrian Ellison; and great-nieces and nephews, Kaylee Todd, Waylon and Zane Wethington.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Kay.
