Frances King, 96 of Dimmitt, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in Dimmitt. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 13, at 2:30 p.m. in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Thompson Mayberry officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 13, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Frances King was born on Nov. 14, 1924 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Frederick Vogelsang and Virginia (Martin) Vogelsang. At the young age of 5, she and her family moved to California where she grew up and attended school. She later met Carl King and they married in Lubbock, Texas. They moved just outside of Nazareth and farmed and then moved to Dimmitt shortly thereafter. Frances was a homemaker where she raised three children. She was involved in (WIFE) Women in Farm Economics for many years. Frances loved to cook for her family but most of all loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to attend church and taught Sunday school for many years.

Frances leaves behind her three children, Janet Lindsey and husband Ron of Hohenwald, Tennessee, Steve King of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Carla King of Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren, Kyle Pool, Kelly Pool, Kendra Paxton, Kevin King and Jeremy Wilkins; along with seven great-grandchildren.

Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Carl King; and two sisters, Jacqulin Ellis and Dodie Perkins.
