Rex Lust, 69, lifelong resident of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, in Dimmitt. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jonathan Sullivan officiating. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, Dec. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. Local arrangements are under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Rex was born on June 21, 1952, in Dimmitt, Texas to Houston Lust and Doris (Finck) Lust. Rex attended school in Dimmitt and graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1970. Rex farmed in the Bethel community for many years up until his retirement. On June 8, 2000, Rex married Carol Lust and they were married for 21 years. He was a member of the Farm Bureau Board, Dimmitt Agri Industries Board, Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery Board, High Plains Water Board as well as many others throughout the years. Rex enjoyed travelling, and riding motorcycles with close friends but most of all he loved farming and attending his grandchildren’s activities.

Rex is survived by his wife, Carol Lust of Dimmitt; mother, Doris Lust of Dimmitt; two sons, Cory Lust and wife Wendy of Sunray, and Cameron Lust and wife Micah of Lubbock; daughter, Becky Schroeder of Canyon; sisters, Sue Summers and husband Charlie of Dimmitt, Ann Cayton and husband Keith of Mesa, Arizona, and Flo Touchstone of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Cray, Cutter, Sage, Tatum and Landry; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Rex is preceded in death by his father, Houston Lust; and brother, Joe Lust.
