Max “Pancho” Martinez Jr., 49 of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020 in Dimmitt. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Dec. 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Arockiaraj Maladapy, Deacon John Niño, and Deacon Richard Martinez as celebrants. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Viewing will be held on Thursday at 3 p.m. with Rosary being recited at 5 p.m.

Due to COVID – 19 the Funeral Home can only have 50 people in the building at all times and a face mask must be worn provided by you. Masks are also required at the church. Your health and safety matter to us.

Max was born on Aug. 8, 1971 in Dimmitt to Max and Lenore (Benavidez) Martinez. He has been a lifelong resident of Dimmitt and was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Max enjoyed watching sports, his favorite being basketball, enjoyed being on Facebook and talking to his friends and family. He was a big fan of Michigan Wolverines; he loved his nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending time reading the word of God. Max was a wonderful loving brother and son.

Those left to cherish his memories are his parents, Max and Lenore Martinez of Dimmitt; his siblings, Richard Luna and wife Christena of Amarillo, Martin Martinez, Jessica Martinez and husband Isaias Garcia, all of Dimmitt; eight nephews, five nieces, four grandnieces and three grandnephews.

Max is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jose and Petra Martinez; and his maternal grandparents, Linoel and Sofia Benavidez.
