Jearldine Newsom, 86, longtime resident of Hart, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, in Hart. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 4, at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Hart with Justin Roberts and the Rev. Donna Lindley officiating. Burial will follow in Hart Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 3, from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home located at 809 Butler Blvd. Dimmitt, Texas.

Jearldine (Price) Newsom was born on Oct. 22, 1934, in Odem, Texas to John Henry Price and Gladys (Ledger) Price. Jearldine grew up in Lockney, Texas and then later moved to Hart. She married Jesse Stewart Newsom on April 15, 1953, in Clovis, New Mexico. She worked at Newsom Grocery, Hart Cleaners, Hart of the Plains Gin & Pump Company and Bud Hill Feeders as well as being a business owner. Jearldine enjoyed quilting, ceramics and painting during her spare time along with being a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Hart and a charter member of the Hart Golden Group.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are her children, Debbie Bass and husband Charles of Erick, Olahoma, Vickie Ethridge of Hart, Rhonda Dyer and husband Stanley of Hart, Johnny Newsom and wife Becky of Van, Texas, Keith Newsom and wife Christy of Cumby, Texas, and erry Newsom and wife Misty of Emory, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; along with special caregivers, Barbara and Charles Lee.

Jearldine is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse Stewart Newsom; brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Betty Price; and son-in-law, Coy Ethridge.
