Glenn Odom, 83, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024 in Amarillo, Texas. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 21, at the First Baptist Church in Dimmitt with Dr. Jonathan Sullivan and King Burney offi ciating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Glenn was born January 31, 1941 in McClain County, Oklahoma to Raymond Odom and Mozelle Teague Odom. He moved to Castro County in 1941. He attended school in Hart until the 8th grade, then moved and graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1959.

He married Beth Cleaver on March 15, 1963, in Dimmitt. They had two children, Greg and Cara. Glenn loved his children, but he really loved to have the grandchildren come and play with Papa and Nana at the farm. Farming and raising cattle were his passion. He loved working on the farm.

He was instrumental in organizing the Young Farmer Organization in Dimmitt in the late 60’s. He severed on several boards including the Dimmitt Wheat Growers Board and the Dimmitt School Board. His family was the most important thing to his life and was loved by all.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Beth Odom of the home; Greg Odom and wife Jackie of Dimmitt, Cara Obert and friend Ben Wissink of Dallas. One brother Jesse Odom and wife ,Leta of Dimmitt; sisters, Marietta Smithson and Patricia Campbell, both of Dallas; four grandchildren, Eric Odom and wife Jenny of Norman, Oklahoma, Nikki Odom of Abilene, Cy Obert of San Francisco, California, and Chloe Obert of Dallas; and two great children, Allie and Easton Odom of Norman, Oklahoma.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mozelle Odom.
