Randy Pope, 68, died on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Randy was born on March 17, 1952 in Matador to Ava Nell and Jean Pope. He grew up in Miliron Ranch near Turkey until the 8th grade when his family moved to Tulia.

He worked for Swisher Feedlot and Tulia Feedlot and he also broke horses. He moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1986. He was a rancher and loved it, he worked on the Cook Ranch in Galisteo, New Mexico. While in New Mexico, he also worked on several movie sets in the special effects department, including Wyatt Earp with Kevin Cosner; Last Man Standing with Bruce Willis; Wild WIld West with Will Smith; and Earth2, of which the special effects team won an Oscar. He returned to Tulia in 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his son, Wesley Pope and wife Kiele of Amarillo; his daughter, Crystal Miller and husband Chris of Savannah, Texas; four grandchildren, Riley Cotton, Natalee Cotton, Coy Miller and Ava Miller; his aunt, Rosella Cannon and husband Lewis of Tulia; and his ex-wife: Mary Jo Franks of Dora, New Mexico.
