Maria Del Rosario Quiroz, age 68, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2022, in Amarillo, Texas surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on Dec. 25, 1953, in Ciudad Juarez to Sotero Garcia and Andrea Barragan. She married Luciano Quiroz on Sept. 3, 1968, in Guadalupe D. B. Chihuahua, Mexico. In 1979, they migrated to the United States and became a resident of Dimmitt, Texas for 43 years. She attended the Spanish Church of Christ in Dimmitt for 36 years.

Rosa was a woman of many traits such as in labor and managing her family business. The last couple of years she was a homemaker and dedicated most of her time to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as making sure she led her family. Rosa lived her life to the fullest and through simple pleasures; spending time with friends and family, snacking, and traveling. She enjoyed listening to Christian music and always made sure to attend church on Wednesdays and Sundays. She was a woman who dedicated her life to the Lord.

She is survived by her husband, Luciano Quiroz of Dimmitt; sons, Narciso Quiroz and his wife Laura of Dimmit, Jesus Quiroz and wife Nora of Dimmitt, Luciano Quiroz Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Dimmitt, and Adam Quiroz and his wife Susie of Canyon, Texas; daughters, Luz Piñon and husband Luis of Plainview, Texas, Betty Quiroz of Dimmitt, Angelica Quiroz and her husband Andres of Dimmitt; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five sisters and four brothers; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sotero Garcia and Andrea Barragan; brother, Esteban Monsivias; sister, Maria Del Rayito Garcia; grandson, Josue Narciso Quiroz; and great-grandson Alexander Noel Piñon.

Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday, July 22, at 11 a.m., at the Fourth and Bedford Church of Christ with Alonso Ortega officiating. Burial to follow service at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dimmitt. Arrangements and services are entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
