Rena Belle Richard, age 92, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, at her residence in Marrero, Louisiana.

Beloved wife and dedicated mother, she is survived by her three children, Craige A. Richard (Mary Chelette) of Marrero, Charlotte A. Richard, of Marrero, and Charles A. Richard Jr., of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico; and her sisters, Peggy (Willard) Trahan of Lake Charles, Betty (Connie Mac) Chandler of Flint, Texas, Billie Smith of Lake Charles, and Lea (Speedy) Chandler of Melbourne, Florida.

Rena was predeceased by her husband, Charles A. Richard Sr.; and their son, Deral L. Richard.

Charles and Rena were blessed with nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Rena was born in Iowa, Louisiana on Oct. 5, 1930, and graduated from Iowa High School in 1948. During the time they lived in Odessa, the Richards were founding parishioners at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, Louisiana on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until mass time. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. at Consolata Cemetery, Lake Charles, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in remembrance of Rena to Notre Dame Hospice of New Orleans.
