Juan Sifuentez, 77 of Brownfield, Texas, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Arockiaraj Malapady and Deacon Richard Martinez as celebrants. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the professional care of Colonial Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Juan Sifuentez was born on Feb. 25, 1943 in Round Rock, Texas to George Sifuentz and Julia (Castillo) Sifuentz. He moved to Castro County many years ago and began farming and farmed up until his retirement. He was always known to have that special garden. Juan was always known to be a joker, he loved to dance to rock-n-roll music, playing baseball, keeping his cars nice and clean, getting massages, wearing his Stacy Adams shoes and always never turned down a good bowl of caldo de rez. Juan was a member of St Anthony’s Catholic Church in Brownfield.

Juan was a very caring and giving person who was always willing to help anyone in need. He was very proud of his legacy and was concerned about keeping his legacy continuing throughout his children. He always wanted his daughters to find good relationships. But throughout his life he will always be remembered by the love and the proudness that he had for his family.

Juan is survived by his children, Elena Rodriguez of Dimmitt, Rebecca Sifuentez of Lubbock, Sylvia Sifuentez of Amarillo, Antonio Sifuentez of Amarillo, Rudy Sifuentez of Dimmitt, Ignacio Sifuentez of Dimmitt, Maximino Sifuentez of San Antonio, Sandra Sifuentez Arguijo of Amarillo, Sandy Sifuentez of Amarillo, Elizabeth Mireles of Hereford, Susie Sifuentez of Dimmitt, Criselda Sifuentez of Lubbock, Gilberto Sifuentez-Cano of Amarillo, and Juanita Amy Sifuentez of Lubbock; two brothers, George Sifuentez and Pete Sifuentez; two sisters, Rosario Lucio and Cresencia Sifuentez; along with 42 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Juan is preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Sifuentez; and son, Juan Sifuentez Jr.
