Sylvia Stubblefield, 88 of Richmond, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022, in Richmond, Texas. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 2 p.m. at the Fourth & Bedford Church of Christ with Ronnie Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m.at the church.

Sylvia Stubblefield was born on Aug. 6, 1934, in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Thomas Stubblefield and Ollie (Dixon) Stubblefield. Sylvia was a longtime resident of Dimmitt before moving to Richmond, Texas to be closer to family. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and longtime member of the Fourth & Bedford Church of Christ. Sylvia loved to cook, make quilts, work in her yard and garden. But most of all she loved spending time with her family who she loved beyond measure.

Sylvia is survived by her children, Joe Stubblefield of San Antonio, Texas, Tommy Davis of Clarendon, Texas, and Cynthia Gayle and husband Charlie of Richmond; two brothers, Dean Choate of Eufaula, Oklahoma, and Freeman Choate of Geary, Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren; 36 greatgrandchildren; and 10 greatgreat grandchildren; along with a son-in-law, Robby Ott of San Antonio, Texas; and daughterin- law, Wanda Stubblefield, of San Antonio.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ollie Choate; husband, Ted Stubblefield; four children, Jackie Davis, Tom Stubblefield, Kathy Ott, and Linda Frautschi; seven brothers, Haskell Choate, Billie Choate, Charles Choate, Leon Choate, Howard Choate, John Choate and Wayne Choate; and three sisters, Emma Phillips, Mildred Huseman and Viola Russell.
