Castro 4-H youth honored

Castro County 4-H Spencer Acker was presented the Gold Star Award at the District 2 66th annual Gold Star Banquet in Lubbock on Oct. 23. The Gold Star Award is the highest achievement award given by the Texas 4-H Youth Development Program through the county 4-H Program. The Texas 4-H Gold Star Award can only be awarded once in a member’s 4-H career after meeting stringent requirements through activities and projects, leadership, and community education. Attending the presentation, was Acker’s mother, Felice Acker, who is the Castro County AgriLife Extension agent.
