Dear Editor: I write this as a long-time Castro County resident, the retired editor of The Hart Beat/The Pulse and someone who would never have even considered voting for Donald Trump. This letter is in response to your recent editorial through which you attempt to lambast “liberals” as being easily offended.
Before you disparage “liberals,” please make sure you understand these are the people who brought you: Medicare; Social Security; the right for women to vote; the right for everyone to vote; the right to have health insurance even if you have pre-existing health conditions; Civil Rights; the GI Bill, just to name a few.
And, now the GOP has forced the removal of a measure from the just passed IRA that would cap insulin prices at $35 for private insurers, and not just Medicare recipients.
So, who is looking out for you?
