The past year has been a real eye opener of what politicians on both sides do, using strategies that any intelligent life form would avoid. Things like: Maybe avoid holding rallies that spread a virus.

The holiday season, or anytime is a time to show appreciation to our loved ones, both people and pets. Handmade toys and treats are a wonderful way to do so and allow owners to avoid busy stores during the pandemic, to ensure their gift is pet-safe, and to add a personalized DIY touch.

A wintery, snowy decor has replaced Christmas decorations here at Rhoads Memorial Library. So, for the few people who will admonish us for leaving Christmas items out too long (and they will), prepare yourself to hear me say, "These are not Christmas decorations. They are snow people and snow-covered holly celebrating the winter season."

As many of you know, we have four kids. I am not saying all the days were roses and sunshine, but we have finally hit a place where we all love and respect each other. We are as healthy as many families want to be and some are hoping to be someday. We still have our warts and scars, but we are okay with that. As a result of this good place, we often have some pretty deep talks which always make me a little bit proud.
