Spotting a red bump in the corner of a pet’s eye is a concerning but not uncommon experience for many dog owners. Colloquially called “cherry eye,” this bump may be a prolapsed gland of the nictitans, also known as the third eyelid. Dr.

Smells

If you have read any of the symptoms of COVID, then you know that one is the absence of smells and taste. When I went to see the ear, nose and throat doctor after I was really sick in late January, one of the things I asked is when I would be able to smell and taste again.

I have been writing this column since 2006 and there is a topic I have never written on – transgenderism. A recent story about retired basketball player Dwayne Wade and his wife Gabrielle, helped push me to write. One of their four children is 12 years old.

Editor’s Message

Every native Texan knows how unique the state, though out of state residents consider some the state’s colloquialism and habits a bit odd. But like it or not, Texans love the Lone Star State and see nothing peculiar at all. Being Texan is great, just ask any Texan.

Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone and we are fully staffed, (and fully stuffed?) we are busily decorating here at Rhoads Memorial Library for Christmas.

The Best Part

As many of you know, we have four kids. I am not saying all the days were roses and sunshine, but we have finally hit a place where we all love and respect each other. We are as healthy as many families want to be and some are hoping to be someday.

May God be merciful and bless us. May his face shine with favor upon us. Interlude Psalms 67:1 (NLT) We often pray for God to bless me and give me his favor. This is so close to how we should pray, yet it misses the mark by miles. Often, there is too much of me and not enough of we in my prayers.
