Cross Country runners from Nazareth High School and Dimmitt High School competed at the Texas State XC meet on Nov. 5 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
Dimmitt’s Azariah Gonzales placed 29th with a time of 17:00.7 in a field of 151 3A runners. Top runner for the 5000M competition was Wyatt Hoover of Poth won the state title with a time of 15:57.4. The top team was Whitesboro.
Running for Nazareth in the 1A girls and boys was Chloe Birkenfeld and Bryson Brockman.
Birkenfeld placed 43rd out of the 148 runners in the 2- mile race with a time of 13:39.78. Winning the 1A run was Taytum Goodman from Springlake with a time of 10:59.36. The top team was Imperial Buena Vista.
Brockman placed 108th with a time 19:43.7 among a field of 150 competitors in the 5K run. Brandon Passmann from Gutherie won the state title with a time of 15:32.9. Miller Grove was the top boys 1A team.
