The Nazareth Swiftettes brought home the Texas State Cross Country 1A title after competing at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock on Monday.
The championship 2-mile race had 121 runners of the best runners in the state competing.
Senior Emma Kleman placed second individually with a time of 12:15.55 behind Tatum Goodman, 11:18.29, from Springlake.
Additional Nazareth runners placing in the top 20 were Kyanne Dunn, senior, 17th; Presley Wheeler, freshman, 19th; and Chloe Birkenfeld, freshman, 20th.
Other team members placing were Riley Ramaekers, freshman, 33rd; Bliss Betzen, junior, 64th; and Clementine Myrick, freshman, 78th.
The Nazareth girls team placed ahead of Miller Grove, second; Imperial Buena Vista, third; Spur, fourth; Munday, fifth; Ackerly Sands, sixth; Saltillo, seventh; Roby, eighth; Nueces Canyon, ninth; Priddy, 10th; Moulton, 11th; and Tilden Mcmullen, 12th.
Dimmitt senior Jordan Garcia came in 22nd in a field of 124 runners at the Texas State Cross Country Championships 3A at Round Rock on Monday. He had a time of 16:35.46.
