Dimmitt, Hart and Nazareth cross country teams competed at the Lubbock Invitational Cross Country this past Saturday. The event was held at Mae Simmons Park. Dimmitt varsity boys com

Dimmitt varsity boys competed in the 3A Men’s 5,000 Meter run against 154 runners from 22 schools. The top five team placings went to Tuscola Jim Ned, Crane, Presidio, Dimmitt and Eastland. The top time and first place runner was Chris Saling from Tuscola Jim Ned with 17:21.1.

Top Dimmitt runners were Azariah Gonzales who placed 14th with a time of 18:37.2 and Jordan Garcia, 18th place, with a time of 18:52.8.

Hart and Nazareth varsity boys competed in the 1A Men’s 5,000 Meter against 86 runners from at least 10 schools. The top five schools were Jayton, Texline, Ackerly Sands, Spur and Springlake. The top time and first place runner was Ben Blankenship from Jayton with an 18:16.8.

Hart’s top runner was Anthony Flores Palacios, 21st, with a time of 20:38.6. Nazareth’s Max Snead came in 23rd with time of 20:48.7.

The Dimmitt girls varsity cross country competed with a large of 169 runners from at least 24 schools in the 3A Women’s 2 Mile run. The top five schools were Holliday, Canadian, Idalou, Muleshoe and Ballinger. The top time and first place runner was Jaycee Lyons from Holliday with a time of 12:34.0.

Top Dimmitt runner was Caitlyn Olmos who placed 99th with a time of 15:46.2.

Nazareth and Hart varsity girls ran in the 1A Women’s 2 Mile division against 131 runners from at least 14 schools. The top five schools were Springlake, Spur, Ackerly Sands, Lenorah Grady and O’Donnell. Nazareth placed in the top 10 teams with a 6th and Hart placed 11th.

The top time in the 1A girls and first place runner was Taytum Goodman from Springlake with 11:24.7.

Staying in the top 20 runners, Hart’s Mia Minjarez placed 11th with a time of 14:23.9 and Nazareth’s Kelsie Gunter placed 17th with a time of 14:48.8.
