Bobbies fall to Lady Mustangs

The Dimmitt Bobbies lost their bout against the Denver City Lady Mustangs, 40-32.

Dimmitt took the lead in the first quarter, 14-12, but Denver City outshot the Bobbies in the second quarter to take a nine-point lead as the first half ended.

The Bobbies fought to close the Mustangs lead in the second half, but were unable to overcome the gap.

The Bobbies hit nine of 34 2-point shots, three of seven 3-pointers, five of 13 free throws, collected 11 offensive rebounds, 18 defensive rebounds, seven assists, seven deflections, eight steals, with 20 turnovers and 14 fouls.

Bobbies shooters included Milee Thomas with seven points, three offensive and defensive rebounds, one assist and two fouls; Braylynn Chavira, six points, one defensive rebound and one foul; Jocelyn Jimenez, six points, one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal and one foul; Na’Khiyah Porras, six points, four defensive rebounds, one assist, one deflection, two steals and five fouls; Meah Espinoza, four points, one deflection, one steal and one foul; and Kriselle Ramirez, three points, three assists, five deflections, three steals and two fouls.

Makayla Delgado had one offensive and defensive rebound, one assist and one block; Brooklyn Catano, one offensive rebound and one foul; Alexis Quiroz, two offensive rebounds, one defensive rebound and one steal.
