2024 Dimmitt Bobbies Powerlifting Team claims team win at Plainview Powerlifting Invitational. The team is coached by Ruby Romero.
The Dimmitt Bobbies scored big wins in their weight classes and claimed the top team trophy at the Plainview Powerlifting Invitational this past weekend.
Both the Bobbies and Hart Ladyhorns competed among nine schools and 71 lifters, including Plainview, Canyon, Canyon Randall, Ralls, Floydada, Shallowater and Lubbock Estacado.
The Dimmitt Bobbies won the meet with seven first places, three seconds and four thirds.
DHS lifters taking top honors in their weight classes were Maddie House (97) with a total weight of 370 lbs.; Rosalinda Comparan (105), 500 lbs.; Julia LaRue (123), 540 lbs.; Nissa Sanchez (132), 745 lbs.; Shaylagh Henriquez (165), 690 lbs.; Victoria Hernandez (181), 700 lbs.; and Na’Khiyah Porras (220), 955 lbs.
The Ladyhorns team placed fourth overall. Top Hart Ladyhorns lifters included Brizeth Soltero, second place in weight class 123, lifting 515 lbs.; Brianna Nally, second place in 132 weight class, 655 lbs.; and Olivia Pearson, seventh in weight class 148, 510 lbs.
