Bobbies score big win over Lady Hornets

The Dimmitt Bobbies came out swinging and scored a big victory over the Sudan Lady Hornets, 22-10.

Dimmitt took the lead in the first inning, 4-3, but the second inning the offense brought in a huge 15 runs, to push the lead to 19-4.

Sudan tried to challenge in the third inning, scoring five runs to the Bobbies’ single run, but were unable to close the huge lead, 20-9. Dimmitt came in with an addition two runs in the fourth inning, with Sudan scoring one run, giving the Bobbies the win 22-10.

Alexis Quiroz got the pitching underway for the Bobbies and in three innings faced 20 batters with a total of 73 pitches, throwing 26 strikeouts and 47 balls, allowing two hits and six walks. Julia LaRue relieved Quiroz in the third inning and faced 13 batters, with a total of 55 pitches, Natalia Ogas had one assist.

The Bobcats will travel to the Tulia Tournament on Feb. 23-25 and their next regular game is against Floydada on Feb. 27, followed by the Floydada Tournament on March 2-3.
