The Bobcats claimed a handy win against the Friona Chieftains on Friday night, 55-30.

Dimmitt took a five-point lead in the first quarter, 9-4, with the offense continuing to outshoot Friona in the second quarter, to close out the first half, 23-10.

The Bobcats sank 20 of 61 fields goals with six of 25 three-pointers, collected 36 rebounds, had 15 assists, 14 steals, two blocks, 13 turnovers and 17 fouls.

The second half, the Bobcats offense stepped up shooting to gain a wider leader in the third quarter, 36-19, and the fourth quarter saw the team hit 19 points to finish off the victory.

Top shots for Dimmitt were Damian Arriaga with 6 points, four offensive rebounds, two defensive rebounds, two assists, three steals and three fouls; and Devin Enriquez, 13 points, one offensive and defensive rebound, one assist, one steal and three fouls.

Contributing shooters were CJ Willey, six points, four defensive rebounds and one steal; Ivan Moreno, six points, four assists and two fouls; Emiliano Peralta, five points, four and defensive rebounds, two assists and one steal; David Fuentes, five points, four offensive rebounds, two defensive rebounds, three assists, two steals and three fouls; Ariel Perez, two points, two offensive rebounds, one defensive rebound, one steal, two blocks and three fouls; and Daunte Perez, two points, one assist and two steals.

Mario Lopez came in with four defensive rebounds, one assist and two steals; and Will VanZee, three defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal and three fouls.

The Bobcats are set to play Lamesa on Jan. 10, with upcoming home games on Jan. 13 against Littlefield and Jan. 17 against Muleshoe.
