The Dimmitt Bobcats claimed a win over the Friona Chieftans, 56-49.

The Bobcats started off strong in the first quarter, taking the lead 14-6 and extending the lead in the second quarter to end the first half, 25-12.

The Chieftans battled in the third quarter while holding the Dimmitt offensive to five points and taking the lead 33-30. The Bobcats bounced back in the fourth quarter to outshoot Friona and take the victory.

The Bobcats came in with 12 of 22 2-point shots, four of 12 3-pointers, 20 0f 38 free throws, seven offensive rebounds, 20 defensive rebounds, seven assists, five deflections, four steal, six blocks, 17 turnovers, 14 fouls and two charges taken.

Top double-digit shooters for the Bobcats were Frankie Cortez with 15 points, two offensive rebounds, four defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal and two fouls; Kaden Carpio, 15 points, seven defensive rebounds, three assists, one deflection and three fouls; Tony Salazar, 12 points, one offensive rebound, one defensive rebound, one assist, one defl ection and one steal; and Enrique Holguin, 12 points, one offensive rebound, four defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and three fouls. Mario Lopez shot for two points, had two offensive rebounds, one defensive rebound, one assist, one defl ection, four blocks and four fouls.

Isiah Sifuentez had one defl ection; and Keenan Hernandez, one deflection, one block and one charge.
