The Dimmitt Bobcats traveled to Monahans on Monday to face the Presidio Blue Devils for the Bi-District title and returned with a

The starting lineup for Dimmitt was Ivan Moreno, Emiliano Peralta, Daunte Perez, CJ Willey and Gabriel Ontiveros.

The first quarter saw the Bobcats leading 20-12. Shooters for Dimmitt were CJ Willey with four points; Ivan Moreno, 10 points, Daunte Perez, five points, and Gabriel Ontiveros , two points.

Second quarter shooters were Moreno, with eight points, Emiliano Peralta, two points, and Willey, five points.

The first half had the Bobcats hitting 13/26 (50%) field goals with 4/10 (40%) 3-pointers , and 5/8 (63%) free throws. They had five assists, four steals, four blocks, nine turnovers and two fouls. Dimmitt brought in 18 rebounds.

Presidio shot for 12/31 (39%) field goals, hitting 4/11 (36%) 3-point shots and no free throws. They collected 14 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and had six turnovers and seven fouls.

The second half got underway with the same Bobcats starting lineup. Dimmitt offense stayed strong in the third quarter, shooting for 20 points to Presidio’s 13, widening their lead to 64-47. Shooters included Willey with six points, Moreno with 12 points and Ariel Perez, two points.

The fourth quarter clenched the win for the Bobcats, with Ontiveros hitting for four points, Peralta, three points, D. Perez, two points, Willey, two points, A. Perez, two points, and Raul Cadena, four points. The final score was 72-63.

Overall stats for the game had the Bobcats hitting 27/43 (41%) field goals with 7/13 (50%) 3-points shots, 13/17 (76%) free throws, collecting 28 rebounds, 15 assists, seven steals, five blocks and 15 fouls.

Top shots for the Bobcats were Ivan Moreno with 29 points, one offensive rebound, four defensive rebounds, one assist, one block and two fouls; and CJ Willey, 17 points, two offensive rebounds, five defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal and one foul.

Contributing shooters were Daunte Perez, seven points, one offensive and defensive rebound, two assists and one foul; Gabriel Ontiveros, six points, one offensive rebound, three defensive rebound, three assists, two steals, four blocks and two fouls; Emiliano Peralta, five points, two defensive rebounds, five assists, two steals and two fouls; Raul Cadena, four points, one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds and one foul; Ariel Perez, four points, one assist and one foul; and Jordan Garcia, two points and two assists.

Marcello Lopez had two defensive rebounds, one steal and one foul; Devin Enrique, one defensive rebound and one foul; Anthony Rodriguez, one defensive rebound and two fouls; Luke Settle, one defensive rebound; and Maz Lopez, one foul.

The Bobcats advance to the Area championship and will play the Abernathy Antelopes.

Bobcats v New Deal

The Dimmitt Bobcats won their playoff bid against the New Deal Lions, 58-52, on Friday, advancing them to the Bi-District round.

The Bobcats claimed an edge in the first quarter, taking the lead 24-11. New Deal battled in the second and third quarter, outshooting the Bobcats by seven points, but the Bobcats prevailed and took the win.

Dimmitt shot for 22/45 (49%) field goals and 9/19 (49%) free throws. They collected 25 rebounds, 14 assists, 11 steals and three blocks.

Top shooters for the Bobcats were CJ Willey with 17 points, three offensive rebounds, four defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal, two blocks and two fouls; and Ivan Moreno, 16 points, two defensive rebounds, two assists, five steals and two fouls.

Contributing shooters were Emiliano Peralta with nine points, four defensive rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and three fouls; Gabriel Ontiveros, eight points, three offensive rebounds, four defensive rebounds, six assists, two steal and two fouls; Daunte Perez, three points, one offensive and defensive rebound, one steal and two fouls; Anthony Rodriguez, three points; and Ariel Perez, two points.
